more goosanders on the rheidol

This morning (Friday 1st) was a good time to observe the fledglings in the garden .The speckled robin never ceases to amaze me it looks so different in appearance to its parents. The greater spotted landed on the fence rail and seemed quite confident. The blackbird was undisturbed by a playful squirel and the female adult was keeping a watchful eye on her family of 8 gooseanders as they learnt some feeding tips at the mouth of the melindwr. This is the largest number so far to survive this long.
Maybe there is more food around for their predators also!
