Short-eared Owl

'An afternoon down at Ynyslas and the Leri Bridge yielded no Greenland
White-fronts in the surrounding fields, (4th time lucky!) but plenty of
Sparrowhawk activity chasing blackbirds, 150+ Lapwings, several Curlews, a
few Mistle Thrushes and around 15 Common Scoter bobbing about just off
shore by the Turn car park. However, the star of the show was a
Short-eared Owl within 10 metres of us over the last houses at Ynyslas
Turn, just as it was getting dark. Never seen one before so chuffed!
