Sightings from Matt Potter

A quick walk down the prom at College rocks produced 30 Herring Gulls, 5 Black Headed Gulls, 4 Lesser Black Backed Gulls, 1 Great Black Backed Gull and a Cormorant.

On Castle Rocks, there were a few Turnstones about. No sign of any Purple Sandpipers today.

On the Old College building, the male Black Redstart was showing very well. Also there was a Rock Pipit and a Pied Wagtail.

At Ystumtuen yesterday, the 5 Whooper Swans that Elaine has posted were there at 11.30am, and still there at 5.30pm when I returned home. There were two very pale 'ducks' that I couldnt ID properly in the dark and gloom but could well have been Gooseanders with the amount of white showing.
