WHEATEARS and WHITE-FRONTS

While watching a Wheatear at Tanybwlch this morning, Harry Pepper got in touch to say he was looking at one at Llanon.
I took some photos of mine and tried to turn it into one of the rarer types than can be seen at this time of year. The best I could do was to make it a young Greenland.
At Ynsylas in the afternoon I noticed some geese flying in off the sea and settle somewhere beyond the boatyard. I walked to the Leri rail bridge from where I could see 14 Greenland White-fronted Geese, including 5 young birds, on a nearby meadow. While watching them a ring-tailed Hen Harrier settled on a post just behind them.
When Jon Val and Chris Bird arrived they also saw a female Merlin. Chris confirmed that the Black Swan was still on the nearby Dyfi.
