The very rare Kemp's Ridley's turtle was recovered by its original finder and is now with 2 others washed up on the Glamorgan coast. They have apparently arrived from Mexico or Florida;the one at llanon accompanied by trigger fish!
It was at first thought to be an Olive's Ridley turtle which, though less globally rare than the Kemp's, would have been a first for the UK hence the panic to re-find it. Subsequent examination of its underside confirmed it however as a Kemps, possibly only the 37th finding in the UK.
