black tailed godwit and crossbills

29th June 15 crossbills in the larch trees across the field; they must be dispersing looking for cones because we are a few miles from Strata forest.  Adult males among the group.

30th June  Llanrhysted beach this Black tailed godwit which is the islandica race I think. Alone, was it still going north or already failed and coming south?
