Yesterday morning's sea-watching at New Quay produced little of interest for Bob, Harry and myself but there were 3 colour-ringed Herring Gulls by the shell-fish plant, all ringed by the Severn Estuary Gull Group at land-fill sites in Gloucestershire.
The one shown here, Blue EZM was at least 4 years old when ringed in January 2010 and seen at a different rubbish tip in Gloucestershire in March of that year. The only subsequent sighting before yesterday was on 5th October last year by Bob and myself at New Quay.
The second adult, Blue JBY was ringed as a first winter bird in January 2010 and seen at Gloucester tip the following January, March and December before being seen by me at New Quay on 16th March this year.
The second, Blue KLP was ringed as a juv. in November 2010, seen at Gloucester tips the following January and the next sighting was yesterday at New Quay.
