Odds and ends

Very pleasant at Ynyslas turn this morning; a stiff easterly wind keeping the midges at bay. One balearic shearwater north at 6.15am was the highlight amongst the usual morning mass of manxies and gannets. At the point, whilst losing the top layer of skin to wind-blown sand, there were 240 ringed plover, 6 turnstone, 82 dunlin and 43 sanderling. Yesterday, at Ynys-hir RSPB the juv. ringed plover was at Lodge Farm and Dick had 5 green sandpipers on the pools below the car-park.
