Sunday morning on Aberystwyth prom

A couple of hours at Castle Point.  Despite the angry looking skies it remained dry and was quite pleasant in the light breeze.
Best bird of the session was a Swift, moving south offshore with a small party of Manx Shearwaters. Most of a light passage of Gannets were also heading south, as were three Common Scoters, whereas two Fulmars and a few Kittiwakes went north.
Nearer to hand, five Sandwich Terns rested on the outer rocks as an Arctic Tern fished in South Bay.
As for waders: 11 Ringed Plover, four Turnstones and a Dunlin at the point.
A few Med Gulls had been coming in during this time, passing the point and then dropping on to College Rocks, so I decided to count them before leaving and came up with 22.  A long way short of Chris's huge count yesterday but as it was only 10:20 when I left, there's plenty of time for numbers to build up.
I'm sure it will be worth a look this afternoon.
