Spent the morning at the fish factory, which was even more malodorous than usual. The highlights were two Arctic Skuas, two Bonxies and three Red-throated Divers.
Kittiwakes were moving south in large numbers, certainly several hundreds, also at least 300 Gannets and about 200 each of Manx Shearwater and Razorbill (with only a few Guillemots picked out).
Also nine Common Scoter and 24 Sandwich Terns.
What would have been the bird of the day was a tantalisingly brief view of a fairly distant petrel before it disappeared into the waves, never to be seen again. Still, you can't win them all.
