A new first sighting for Llawrcwrt yesterday
morning, a female Goldeneye on the pond. The pond is not much used by waterfowl.
The odd Mallard and Teal visit and there are Canada geese in the spring most
years. I did see a Goosander one year and there was a short visit by 6 Bewick
Swans many years ago, and that is just about it for the last thirty years.
It was also nice to see a couple of Reed
Buntings. One or two pairs breed here most years but they are scarce in the
Winter.
