I think your Brambling may have crossed the road to my garden Mervyn.
This morning I noticed one in amongst a throng of other finches - Siskin, Greenfinch, Chaffinch - going through the food so quickly I'm sure I could put marks down the feeder and use it as a timepiece.
Other birds doing their best to chomp their way through my pension included Nuthatch, Great Spotted Woodpecker and various tits.
