The weather was absolutely gorgeous at Ynyslas this morning, hardly any breeze and a flat-calm sea. A Merlin flew in from further up the estuary and settled to preen on a post in the field beside the Leri boat-yard. On the ground in front of her there were c 100 Curlew, 20 Lapwing and 5 or 6 Redshank.
On the sea in front of the Turn Car Park were c 30 Red-throated Divers, 40 Great Crested Grebes and about 20 Common Scoter. A Chough flew past looking splendid in the bright sunshine.
