The thaw due to the warmer temperature has meant that the Lapwing are on the move ! I saw a large flock of 100 plus heading west this morning. It would be great to know their whereabouts ! The garden is quieter now that many visitors have left.Ive also noticed how agile the larger birds have to be in order to feed from the bird feeders designed for smaller birds. Today I watched a clever magpie, two wreckless grey squirrels and a spotted woodpecker all feeding successfully, not at the same time I hasten to add .The longtailed tits however seem not to mind sharing with the male woodpecker, such is their hunger!
