Llanrhystud and Ynyslas

I also paid a visit to Llanrhystud this afternoon and saw hundreds & hundreds of birds in the fields there - mostly the same species as Ian but not quite such an impressive total.  Star birds for me were the Fieldfares which came very close affording excellent views of these stunning winter visitors.
After my cheese sandwich and tea I headed off to Ynyslas where there were thousands of birds.
The were Wigeon (c700) and Curlew quite close-by, but further away I could see huge numbers of Oystercatcher and maybe 800-1,000 Canada Geese.  Lots of Curlew were hanging around and a solitary pale-bellied Brent Goose.  The weather was kindly and the light was good.  Altogether a marvellous afternoon's birding.
