Early this morning the bog was quiet but stunning in the sunshine especially as there were 2 curlews calling, a redshank on the flash(hopefully one of the bog breeding birds) and a male Hen Harrier hunting the boardwalk area where a number of pipits had arrived to join the reed bunts. I had prolonged and close views of the harrier so I feel quite privileged, enough to go out and finish the thrush survey for Moira!
PS Eddie still around, thankfully tolerated by the farmers here with fields full of healthy lambs and rabbits.
