I had just been watching a female Wheatear on the beach at Tanybwlch while being battered by a freezing east wind and snow flakes when I heard a mass of shrieking gulls overhead. They were escorting an Osprey which was flying north above the shore. My final view of it was as it flew over the War Memorial by the Castle.
I alerted Chris Bird who was nearby and he had been watching a Black Redstart on the Old College.
