Yesterday I glimpsed a Black Redstart in Trefechan, Aberystwyth, on a house between the fire station and the disused car showroom. A male was reported to be in that area on Friday and Thursday and was photographed by Brendan Sheils.
There were several Wheatears at nearby Tanybwlch beach yesterday incluing some singing males and a fine-looking and even more colourful Greenland Wheatear, often close to Northern Wheatears for useful comparison. Later, Chris Bird noticed one from Spencers Sheds and Arfon Williams saw 8 on Cors Caron.
I was back at Pen Dinas this morning and listening to and seeing a nice variety of warblers. They are hard to photograph so here is one of the many Dunnocks to be found there, especially around Spencers Sheds where they have benefited from the seed put out for the birds.
There are so many that we wondered what a collective term for a gathering of Dunnocks may be.
