A single Snipe flying West down the valley at dusk yesterday was a first
for here.
Also, not a bird record but an interesting comment on the current weather
- I found a slow worm just after sunset lying in what would have been a
suntrap a few minutes earlier. It was so torpid I thought it was dead but
after a few minutes in the hand it started to move so I put it in the
polytunnel in the hope it would survive the night. Still there and fine if
slow(!) the next day. The temperature must've dropped so fast after sunset
it literally didn't have time to get to cover. Makes you wonder what else
is being affected in strange ways by such strange weather...
