A Chiffchaff was in full song at Ynys-hir car park when I arrived this morning, I think he was giving us his Rodgers & Hammerstein "Oh what a beautiful morning."
I flushed a Woodcock from beside the path close to Marian Mawr and a (rather late?) male Hen Harrier flew along the path in front of me near the Saltings Hide. He put up a Snipe which in its panic flew straight towards me.
A Lesser spotted Woodpecker started calling quite close to me near the railway bridge but unfortunately, as I was trying to locate him a family group came along and stopped right under the tree I thought he might be in, so I missed him again....
