Saturday's Field Trip

Here is the report for last Saturday's bird walk.   Moira

Nine of us joined Alan for the walk down the beautiful Cwm Soden.
Birds seen or heard were Blackbird,  blue tit,  bullfinch,  buzzard,  Carrion crow,  chaffinch,  chiffchaff,  coal tit,  dipper,  goldcrest,  great spotted woodpecker,  grey wagtail,  herring gull,  house martin,  jay,  kestrel,  nuthatch,  red kite,  robin,  swallow,  swift,  treecreeper,  whitethroat,  woodpigeon,  wren.  Oystercatchers and gannets were spotted flying past when we sat for awhile on the cliff path.
the butterfly buffs had a wonderful time spotting the many butterflies present the were excited by the numbers of silver washed frittilarries and driven ecstatic by the discovery and photographing of a marbled whits which is very rare in Ceredigion..
