A leucistic juvenile rook - wings and tail pinkish brown - was amongst the flock of rooks and jackdaws on a cultivated IBERS field between bridge and start of Bow Street. There was an army camp here around 1913. At one time we used to find pieces of pots and inkwells.
The spotted crake was still there at 2.30 today and I gather has been showing well. It disappeared back into reeds two minutes after I arrived. Lucky wasn't held up too long in the Visitor Centre or it would have been the unspotted crake.
