At the Turn Car Park we picked out 6 Common Scoter on the sea, there were a few Gannets way off shore and a single Sandwich Tern flew past. As the weather deteriorated we opted to go to the point rather than the pill-box which would have involved a longer trudge through the rain. I think we made the right decision because we saw some cracking birds there - Dunlin, Sanderling, Ringed Plover, Curlew Sandpiper, Golden Plover, Wheatear, Linnet, pied and White Wagtail all showed nicely.
As we got wetter and wetter we decided to retreat to the cars and go for the Spotted Crake at Ynys-hir, another good decision because within a couple of minutes of arriving out it came to give us very good views. There were also Teal, Mallard, Wigeon and Moorhen on the pond and a Grey Heron made a noisy approach as we left.
