Last week we had 5 Redpolls, 2 Bramblings, 6 Siskins and up to 12 Goldfinches all feeding on the sunflower hearts in the feeder. They also fed on the lawn together with the starlings who were getting grubs from the lawn. Today a Great Spotted Woodpecker was also feeding on the lawn, but not sure what he was eating.
Whilst on the way to the birding walk at Hafod this morning with Liz we stopped to have a look at Pant Lake in Llanddewi Brefi and along with a little Grebe, Mallard, Tuffed Duck and two Herons we were very lucky to spot an Otter who was very busy feeding. We watched him/her for a good 15 mins before continuing on to Tregaron, passing 3 Gooseanders who were on the small pond which is currently flooded across the road. A very good start to the morning.
