Reading your post reminded me that I need to send in my return for the big bird watch uk ! This year I was sent a spare form showing all the birds to look out for in our parks and gardens.I sent it to my grandsons in Cheshire and they were going to carry out the hours survey today ,before the rain hopefully.There is also room on the form for recording other animals too.I managed to record : a nuthatch a goldfinch 6 longtailed tit,13 chaffinch ,4 blue tit,4 great tit,a coal tit,2 raven,2 magpie,a robin .A red kite and 10 common gulls flew overhead and I heared a wood pigeon. Later whilst out in Plasgrug I saw 9 mallard,5 male and 4 female,on the standing water by the play area.It hasnt taken them long to move in!
