Ynys-hir today

Thank goodness we made it to Ynys Feurig before the worst of the storm earlier today.  From the relative comfort of the hide we watched as the tide rose, thunder and lightning boomed and flashed, and hail stones poured out of the sky.  Despite the atrocious weather and poor visibility we were able to make out lots of ducks on the flooded field in front of us - Mallard, Teal, Wigeon, Pintail and Shoveler - as well as lots of Curlew.  Earlier, at about 11:30 we saw 6 White-fronted Geese from Marian Mawr Hide as well as quite a few Barnacles.
