Save our seabirds

To Members, Friends and Supporters of the Wildlife Trust in North Ceredigion.

Many many thanks to those who came to our meeting last evening and contributed generously to the urgent new campaign - Save Our Seabirds.
There was an excellent article in the Independent Newspaper today, which Lizzie Wilberforce contributed to;

and also;

For those who couldn't come, let me explain, we have been battered by storms this last winter, and it is not just our coastlines and lowlands that have suffered. Seabirds overwintering at sea have been unable to feed or rest, and they are being washed up dead, emaciated, on the coastlines of Western Europe in horrific numbers,  25,000 plus.
And at the worst possible time, NRW have cut the funding for long term seabird monitoring schemes. A project ongoing for 40 years looking at auks on Skomer Island has been axed, among others.

The Wildlife Trust of South & West Wales has launched an urgent appeal, we need to raise £10,00 urgently to keep the monitoring projects going.  We need to know what is going on, we need to keep the monitoring going.
The appeal is called Save Our Seabirds, there is more information here;

The campaign has started well, and contributions are coming in. We raised nearly £100 at the meeting last night and that is just a start.
Please contribute if you can, there are various ways you can. If you can't manage the online stuff, let me know, we will be happy to pay cash in for you.

Many thanks,
