Swyddffynnon Starling Roost

We went to see the starling roost near Swyddffynnon on Friday, at last. Absolutely incredible and truly one of the great wildlife spectacles of my life! Ham Wall may have up to a million at their roost but 'our' birds are CLOSE - the whoosh of their collective wingbeats as they turned was amazing to hear and the murmurations were breathtaking. We watched, just in time, from about 5.45 to 6.15. The attached photos are poor but still give an idea of the density. You can view the roost wood by looking to the west from the road at  674667 - temporary parking may be possible nearby but please be considerate.
