Late winter birds and early summer migrants

An early morning walk around YnysHir was enjoyable. Great to see so many Redstarts and Pied Flycatchers in full song. A single Whitethroat was also singing and a Tree Pipit buzzed over. A fine immature Whooper Swan from Ynys Feurig hide looks quite out if place as it fed alongside Common Sandpiper and 2 White Wagtails. 2 Common Crossbills flew north over the Dyfi while a single Osprey was also present.
A quick look at Aberystwyth harbour in my way back produced a very close Common Guillemot and 2 Sandwich Tern in the mouth, while six Purple Sandpiper showed at point blank range as can be seen from the iPhonescoped shot below!
