Malta, stop killing our birds. Now.

Since starting this blog I've tried very hard to not let it become a place where controversial views are published.  Having seen the bitching and vitriol aired on some other county blogs I've been determined not to let it happen here.
I'm sorry if there are any of you who support the carnage that is about to kick off once again on Malta and feel that this article, indeed this blog is wholly one sided, but this is personal.
I feel incensed that this outrage has been allowed to continue year after year, decade after decade without the Government of Malta or the EU commissioners demanding it stops, ABSOLUTELY.
I have written to several MPs and MEPs asking them what they can do to bring the barbaric slaughter to an end and to put it succinctly, I've been repeatedly fobbed off.
I'm so grateful that a louder, more powerful voice than mine, in the shape of one Mr Chris Packham has taken up cudgels to do battle for our birds.  This is a campaign which I've thought should have been at the very top of the RSPBs agenda for years.  It's not too late for them to make it their number one priority, but sadly I think it's now or never.  Next year, or the year after might just be too late for some of the most endangered species hanging on to the Britsh list by a whisker.

Please look at this  www.chrispackham.co.uk and please PLEASE circulate it to as many people and to as many relevant web-sites and blogs as you can think of.
