Recent sightings
At Ynyslas turn on Saturday 25/10 there were 18 red-throated divers on the sea, a great northern diver flew north, a few gannets and around 50 kittiwakes were feeding in the distance and a swallow flew south and a wheatear was sheltering around the old brick building to the north. At Ynyslas there was a chiffchaff in the willows. Today at Ynys-hir there was a great crested grebe on the river, a fine male hen harrier, 11 stock dove, a greenshank on the Clettwr, a whimbrel still on Lodge Farm and 140 pintail at the afon Ddu mouth. Despite searching daily following Roy Bamford's blog there has been no sign of Greenland white-fronted geese on the Dyfi at all so perhaps the flock carried on over the Irish sea. They really should be in by now.
