I got quite close to a Herring Gull at Ynyslas this morning and noticed it had a metal ring on its right leg. But unfortunately it didn't have a left leg to put a ring on.
I can't imagine this was the case when the bird was ringed, so I can only assume it lost its leg after it was ringed.
Apart from the missing limb, it looked healthy and handsome.
