I was extremely privileged today to find a swallow's nest with four
youngsters under a low bridge up in the hills above Cwm Berwyn. Not a place
where I would have expected swallows to nest. Both parents were busily feeding,
so good luck that they will fledge soon and be on their way before it gets too
cold! Because of forestry felling, I also noticed that Llyn Berwyn is now
visible from the mountain road and there is an access track right down to the
lake. Not sure if anything interesting was ever seen there but it might be worth
keeping an eye on it, especially as a large part of the lake can now be scanned
from the road with a scope.
