Black Redstart - Old College

Both the male and female Black Redstarts gave a good show around the Old College this afternoon.( John - you left a bit too soon!) The male is still  showing signs of its injury but it does not seem to impede its flight in any way, however it was noticeable that when resting it always 'hunkered' down. Able to decipher the ring on a couple of pics and it is indeed the bird that was ringed at the same site back in 2010. - A record age for a Black Redstart - perhaps it is just suffering from hip problems that come with advancing years
