Glaucous and smew

After work today I drove to Aber following a phone call from John and straight away saw the first winter glaucous gull in the harbour with a few herring gulls. Then on to Llyn Eiddwen and the smew and scaup were diving together and showing well (this is my fourth attempt for the smew, gale force winds on the first and low cloud and visibility so poor I could not see the lake on the others) so was very pleased. Also there were 13 goosanders, 7 teal, 4 goldeneye and a great crested grebe. A bleak but lovely spot.
