Well, not quite!
Only 1 day after saying to Moira Convery, "The shrike is staying really late. Wouldn't it be amazing if it was still here when the cuckoos arrive.", lo and behold, I had the pleasure of looking at the shrike whilst listening to a cuckoo which was perched only 100 yards away.
They were both close to the T junction. I see from the 2014 bird report that the previous latest report was 13 April. I will try to get up to the woods over the next few days to monitor it.
