Llyn Eiddwen and Cross Inn Forest

A pochard, male goldeneye, teal, mallard and goosanders at Llyn Eiddwen this morning but we couldn't see the scaup.

The great grey shrike was showing well in the Cross Inn Forest clearance, first on a dead tree at 2.50 pm and then 10 minutes later 200 yards away on a young tree. Also sighted a great spotted woodpecker and heard several willow warblers, though at this stage they are still outnumbered by a monotomy of chiffchaffs. Yellow archangels and a single bluebell flowering well at the entrance to the forest.
