I listened to the Lesser Whitethroat singing all around me for about 15 minutes this morning before I managed to see it, then enjoyed great views. The bird is in the area around the start of the footpath up Pendinas on the way down to the cycle path.
Earlier a seawatch from Castle Point produced eight Gannets, five Kittiwakes, three Shelduck, nine Whimbrel, seven Lesser Black-backed Gulls and two Red-breasted Mergansers, all going north. A few Manx Shearwaters passed by fairly closely, but there were many more feeding a long way out.
