Field Trip
Many thanks to Silke for leading us up Cwm Bwlch. I'd like to say it was as good as I remember it ten years ago but in fact it was better as access has been greatly improved by, I think, the ramblers/county council. As we anticipated, bird song has just dropped right off recently which made id difficult. We heard lots of small birds going tweet but putting a name to them was not easy. The wooded valley was however extremely beautiful. At the top in the open things were easier. In an area of meadows and small pools we picked up birds such as Reed Bunting, Stonechat, Linnet and Stock Dove, and best of all a Brown Hare. 33 species seen in total. I think we'd all like to get back for another visit, in the autumn or earlier in the spring next year.
