We all glibly speak of 'habitat loss' being responsible for the dire state of nature in these Isles, well this is what it looks like in Penuwch.
What used to be a valley of rhos pasture leading down the Afon Arth valley is being drained; no matter that the curlew, snipe and lapwing are long gone so will the supporting cast of pipits, whinchat and spotted orchids plus the uncountable associated invertebrates follow. I wait to see if this for food or horses. Not sure how this fits with allowing flood plain land to absorb flood waters either.
