VISITOR from SERBIA and RADIPOLE LAKE, DORSET

As predicted Chris found another ringed Mediterranean Gull. It was with a flock of 57 on College Rocks, late Sunday evening.
Red YAA2 is a really interesting one. It was ringed pre-fledging in June 2011 at a lake in Serbia close to the Hungarian border.
Every year since then, outside of the breeding season, it has spent its time in Dorset at Radipole lake (RSPB reserve) or nearby. Only once has it been seen at a breeding colony, in June 2013 near Antwerp.
This year it was last seen in Dorset in January and the next sighting was the one by Chris.
I'm sure there will be more to come!
