Ynyshir bonanza

Some great birding at Ynyshir today. Arrived at 7am and didn't leave until 1.30pm! Couldn't pull myself away. Here is the tally....
2 juvenile Little Ringed Plover , 2 Little Stint, 2 Ruff, 22 Black tailed Godwit, Wood Sandpiper, 3 Green Sandpiper and Whimbrel in the pools in front of Ynys Feurig hide. The incoming tide produced 7 Curlew Sandpiper, Greenshank, Sanderling and 20+ Knot amongst lots of small waders on the estuary. Also a superb Osprey flyby and great views of Kite bathing in the pools. Add to that hundreds of Dragonflies and good numbers of butterfly on the wing. Good to meet Jim and his wife from New Jersey, USA- a Ceredigion expat who checks the blog regularly from the US. Some poor iPhone pics that really don't do justice....
