Llanrhystud

Parked at Llanrhystud yesterday morning with the intention of walking to Llansantffraed for the egret. Met Edward there who found a juvenile arctic tern and started scanning out to sea. There were hundreds of auks and gannets moving north and after a few minutes I picked out a pom skua heading north and a bit later a great northern diver flew north. Nothing of note at the lime kilns, apart from Harry Pepper suffering from a bad cold, though scanning at the feeding flocks of gulls, gannets and auks an arctic skua flew slowly north and started harrying a much smaller bird far out which turned out to be a leach's petrel. Flat calm sea with no wind so not what I was expecting at all.
