Ian, I suppose a bit daft trying to identify geese at that time, I did consider
greylags as I see the groups between Lampeter and Pencader and while I know that
the most likely geese to fly in those formations are greylags the sun
illuminated the undertail which I have always thought was whiter in albifrons
than anser they were very high. Besides thrushes and starlings at least 5
greater spotted woodpeckers in the mile and quarter between the village and home
this morning.
