4 Shoveler, Common Scoter, Red-Throated-Diver, Great Crested Grebe and some
distant auks were at Ynylas turn carpark late this morning. There was
a Greenshank, 2 Turnstone and few decent flocks of Dunlin at Ynyslas.
The fields
east of the Clettwr were busy today, with the tagged Marsh Harrier, ringtail Hen
Harrier and Merlin all in view at once at one stage. The Lapwing and Golden
Plover were flushed up by the Hen Harrier, revealing around 800 Lapwing and 350
Golden Plover in the fields east of the Clettwr.
4 very distant Swans flew up
towards the sea on the Aberdyfi side of the estuary, the remained unidentified
as they were too distant to make out beak colour. Another nice surprise was a
Water
Rail calling from the reedy ditch alongside the river.
