This afternoon I had brief views of a female Black Redstart in the boatyard
north of Aberystwyth harbour. Perhaps this is one of the old college
individuals, as I have only had one brief view of a female on the college out of
about 7-8 attempts this year. Gull roosting is hard work, with the strong winds,
and the daily peregrine scaring away all gulls on college rocks. Decent numbers
of Common and Black-headed's on the sea have been joined by at least a single
adult Med Gull for the last 4 evenings. The gulls have been joined by a
Red-throated Diver, 3 Guillemots, a Shag and Great Crested Grebes on various
evenings.
