Early afternoon at Borth. Tide high, little swell and sea smooth. Nothing to see
thro the bins but I got out the scope to have a look at a bit of driftwood and
began picking out mid and distant scoter. I reckon at least 130+ from the golf
club, twos and threes and small rafts of up to a dozen widely scattered. No
grebes or divers which was a bit disappointing. Couple of brief glimpses of
distant SE Owl on the left, opp the plant nursey on the flats. Three turnstone
on one of the new breakwaters at Borth, I guess they may be regulars now the
rocks are vegetating, next purple sands?
