Purps on the prom

A combination of high tide and onshore gale drove two Purple Sandpipers off the wall and onto the prom this morning.  At one point a gust of wind swept one of them off its feet and bowled it along the prom until it regained its balance and rejoined the other.
Offshore, two Gannets made it look easy as they headed north into the wind.
