A walk down to Glandwr
yesterday evening did not reveal the hoped-for Great Snipe. I went back this
morning (early) and again, no Great Snipe. However, there was a single
'chipping' Snipe, 3 male Cuckoos chasing each other and all singing at the same
time, Sedge, Reed and Grasshopper Warblers. A single Cetti's singing from close
to the further pool and also a Water Rail close by. Two Cattle Egret with
sheep in usual area and the Ring-billed Gull distantly in its usual field.
Worth getting up for.
