Had a quick stop off at Ynyslas, today whilst heading back from the Aberystwyth University open day;
hard to imagine it's been 2 years since I last visited the county.
Didn't take
long for the 1st summer 'Queen' Eider to be located off the salt marsh at the
far end of the car park. Whimbrel (4), Common Sandpiper (2), Red Kite (1),
Dunlin (2) & Sandwich Tern (3) were also about with a distant Little Egret
out on the marsh.
Meanwhile a brief stop off at the Dyfi Junction produced
Bar-headed Goose (1), Common Sandpiper (6), Green Sandpiper (1), Goosander
(2) along with Grey Wagtail (1).
Elliot Montieth
Good to hear from Elliot again. He has found some good birds on his previous visits to the county.
Apologies for yet another photo of the King Eider, but it shows the bird well in its favoured habitat.
